Dear Mengo Elite League Fraternity, 

COMMENCEMENT OF SEASON 3 OF THE MENGO ELITE LEAGUE (MEL) 

I take this opportunity to thank God for how far he has brought us. In the same spirit, let me appreciate all the stakeholders that participated in Season 2 of the League which ended on a good note in December 2022. 

MEL Executive Committee wishes to inform you that MEL Season 3 is back and will commence on Sunday 07th May 2023 at Mengo Senior School playground. 

In light of the above, this is, therefore, to bring to your attention the following: 

  1. a. League subscription fees per team is UGX 1,500,000 which should be fully payable at least before the last week of APRIL, 2023 to facilitate proper preparations for the season. Additionally, team captains are requested to mobilize their team members to contribute towards the League subscription fees and also to actively participate in all the season outings. 
  2. b. A cash prize of UGX 1,000,000 for the winner of the Season has been introduced. 
  3. c. MEL Season 3 is to be played for about 6 months from May 2023 to October 2023. 
  4. d. Team captains/administrators should endeavor to ensure that ONLY old students of Mengo SS participate in the scheduled match outings. Breach of rules will attract hefty punishment. 
  5. e. Players are cautioned against indiscipline both on and off the pitch. Team captains / administrators are advised to ensure that their respective team members uphold a high degree of respect and dignity for avoidance of severe penalties. 
  6. f. Female Mengo SS old students are encouraged to actively participate in the activities of the League to make it more gender inclusive and fun. 
  7. g. Well-wishers of the League are encouraged to offer any kind of support towards its success.
