A message from our President

Greetings Mengo Elite League Family,

I would like to thank the almighty God for his generosity and unceasing love. As the League Administration, we send our heartfelt condolences to all the members of the Mengo SS Fraternity that lost their loved ones during the 2-year Covid-19 pandemic that hit us so hard. May their Souls Rest in Eternal Peace. Additionally, we pray that God makes a way for all those going through hard times in their lives.

Mengo Elite League was an idea born in 2019 with the aim of bridging the networking gap among the old students of Mengo Senior School. It is a gender inclusion event and leaves no one behind regardless of their race, color, income, and other forms of discrimination.

Mengo Elite League’s success has been a result of unconditional effort and commitment by a group of Old Students who have been part of the dream since its inception. In a special way, I would like to appreciate these individuals to mention but a few, for contributing immensely to the success of the League, the former Headteacher of Mengo SS; Mr. John Fred Kazibwe, Mr. Jeremiah Mugerwa, Ms. Bua Glorious, Mrs. Dorothy Kiggundu, Vivien Kawule, Christopher Rubaya, Mark Patrick Kabengwa, Marvin Kibalama, Lumu Kiyinji Nicholas, Joseph Sserunjoji, Peter Kawuma, Steven Kawalya, Jonathan Suubi, and Gad Kisaalu.

Winners medals.

Amidst the so many challenges encountered from the start of the League, the League administration was in a position to organize a fruitful Season 1 which had 8 teams and had a winner (DH Expendables) that took home a trophy, medals, and certificates. I would like to congratulate them once more on behalf of the whole organizing team. With the preparations for the new season already underway the League administration promises to deliver a much more scintillating season this year with more activities for all those participating and more entertainment for our fans.

In light of the above, a special gratitude message goes to all the teams that participated from the start until the very final stages, your presence in the League gave it a huge boost and we look forward to even have more than 8 teams come Season 2.

Lastly, as we get ready for yet a fun-filled event (Season 2), I would like to call upon each and every old student of Mengo SS to come to be part of this initiative to network, have fun, exercise to stay healthy and reminisce about the good old Mengo times.

“Akwana Akira Ayomba”

Cheers,

David Sekalye
